As a small-town Kentucky girl at heart
I learned a long time ago that success takes persistence and an unwavering belief in yourself.
Growing up in a working-middle-class family, I didn’t get a lot of outside encouragement to pursue my dreams. It was up to me.
Even in the early days of Pink Lily, people looked at Chris and I like we were crazy for taking the chances that we did. I’d take money that most people would put towards debt or bills, and use it to buy more merchandise to sell - because I knew in my gut that we were onto something.
Then less than a year in
My little side hobby of selling clothes online quickly grew into an exceptional success.
We launched the first Pink Lily website on December 30th, 2013, with the goal of hitting $50k in sales that first year. We had no idea what was coming our way. Within six months, both Chris and I were able to quit our full-time jobs, and we ended that year with over $4 million in sales.
It wasn’t all smooth sailing that first year though.
Our oldest son was still a baby, and at the beginning, I was balancing my corporate job, life as a new mom, and the quickly growing business - all at once. I would work all day, come home, cook dinner, put my son to bed, and then stay up until two in the morning packing orders and taking care of our customers.
It was in those hard, late-night hours that my belief systems were formed:
When you bet on yourself, you really can have it all.

2010
- Married my college sweetheart
- Bought our first house

2011 - 2012
- Started selling merchandise online to earn a little extra money to pay for our student loans
- Transitioned into selling fashion items over miscellaneous random merch
Fun, but just a hobby!
2013
- Jackson Thomas born in May
- While on (unpaid) maternity leave, decided to start a Facebook group to sell our merchandise
- The Facebook group quickly grows to over 10k excited shoppers
- Still selling out of our home while working all day in my insurance job
- Started realizing this could be something BIG
- Decided we needed a website to manage the growing demand
A pretty pivotal year!
2014
- Launched the first Pink Lily website on December 30th, 2013
- Chris and I agree that we would shoot for $50k in sales the first year of the website
- Sales completely take off. By April I’m able to leave my job to focus on the business, and by July Chris leaves his.
- Secured our first warehouse - an old salon that’s 1500 square feet of space. Big enough, or so we thought
- By the end of the year, we hit $4 million in sales
I know, so crazy!!
2015
- Grew out of the salon “warehouse” and upgraded to a 3,000-square-foot space
- Rylee Kate born in April
- Surpassed $10M in sales
- Moved to a new home
2016 - 2017
- Featured on Forbes.com
- Moved warehouses again - this time to a 25,000 square foot space (our forever home - we thought!)
- Featured as an Inc. 5000 Company
- Opened a retail store in Bowling Green, KY
2018 - 2019
- Added on to the 25,000 square foot warehouse & built a corporate headquarters
- Surpassed $50M in sales in 2018
- Named Entrepreneur of the Year
- Started IVF, got pregnant, but miscarried. Then started last round and had success!
2020
- Reese Caroline born in January
- Successfully navigated the global pandemic
- Leased a 160,000-square-foot warehouse
- Surpassed over 200 full-time employees
2021 - 2023
- Started focusing on my personal brand and creating content
- Began monetizing my personal brand and social media by working with other brands and affiliate links
Figuring it all out and loving this new side of the business!
2024
- Over the last few years successfully landed collabs with big brands like Target, Walmart, Michaels, Hallmark, and more!
- Launched my first e-course: Affiliate Marketing Academy and began planning my second.
- Moved to Nashville!
- Just getting started with helping students achieve their entrepreneurship dreams
