We’re a month into the new year and this is the time when it is important to make sure those goals you made at the beginning of the year don’t hit a standstill as the “new year, new me” feeling begins to fade. We just moved into our new Pink Lily HQ which was a big goal of ours, but the work doesn’t stop there. So what are some ways to keep the motivation flowing this year?
At Work
Work is one place where you can start feeling burnt out no matter your profession. You can feel pressure from those higher up and then there is the internal pressure of wanting to do a good job for yourself. In order to thrive in these settings, you have to ensure you are weaving positivity and achievable goals into your everyday. Hopefully, you are in a job that you are passionate about, but even if you are in a position that is a stepping stone to your future professional goals, these tips can help you make the most of it.

- Set Clear Goals: Break tasks into smaller, achievable goals to stay focused and feel a sense of accomplishment.
- Prioritize Tasks: Tackle the most important or challenging tasks first, when your energy is at its peak.
- Take Breaks: Short breaks can boost productivity and refresh your mind, helping you stay motivated longer.
- Stay Organized: Use to-do lists or apps to track progress and avoid feeling overwhelmed.
- Celebrate Small Wins: Reward yourself when you complete a task, no matter how small, to stay motivated.
- Find Purpose: Connect your work to a bigger goal or personal value to feel more driven.
- Stay Positive: Focus on the positive aspects of your job and try to maintain a positive mindset.
- Minimize Distractions: Stay focused by limiting distractions like social media or unnecessary meetings.
In Life
Work is one thing, but the craziness of life and personal fulfillment can burn us out even faster if we don’t have practices that help build us up. I am a working mom with a lot on my plate, but these things really help me be the best person I can be for myself and my family even when life gets crazy busy. Now it’s important to note that I don’t do all of this perfectly and still have moments of overwhelm, but reminding myself of these tools can help bring me back to center. Hopefully, they can help you do the same so you can accomplish the things you want to do.

- Set Personal Goals: Whether it’s fitness, learning a new skill, or getting better at a hobby, having clear goals gives you something to work toward.
- Create a Morning Routine: Start your day with positive habits, like exercise, journaling, or reading. A solid morning routine can set the tone for the day.
- Stay Accountable: Share your goals with a friend or family member, or even track them yourself. Accountability keeps you motivated to follow through.
- Surround Yourself with Positivity: Whether it’s people, books, music, or environments, surround yourself with things that inspire and uplift you.
- Celebrate Progress: Recognize even small victories. Every step forward is worth celebrating.
- Take Care of Your Body: Exercise, sleep well, and eat healthily. Physical well-being can boost your energy and motivation.
- Stay Flexible: Life doesn’t always go as planned. Be willing to adjust when things come up, but keep moving forward.
- Practice Gratitude: Focus on what you have and what’s going well. A gratitude practice can shift your mindset and help you stay motivated.
- Find Joy in the Process: Rather than focusing solely on the end result, try to find satisfaction in the daily journey and effort.
Motivation is hard because a lot of it comes from work you do internally. However, having others around you who are working to stay motivated can help with accountability and encouragement when you need it most. Let’s all work together to support the people in our lives this year and surround ourselves with those who will lift us up, so we can all achieve our goals together. Tag me on Instagram with things that help you stay motivated or with your goals for the year. Let’s build each other up!
