Everyone loves cheese bread and the holidays so I have a great way to marry the two! This mozzarella tree is simple to make, impressive to look at, and fun to tear apart. Use it as a savory appetizer at your holiday party or for a fun, festive night in snack. Trust me, this is a hit for all ages.

Ingredients Needed:

1 large egg + 1 tbsp water for egg wash

6 tbsp butter, melted

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tbsp parsley

1 tbsp basil

1 tsp minced garlic

12-14 mozzarella string cheese

2 – 130% cans pizza dough

1 jar of marinara sauce for dipping

To make this tasty mozzarella tree, follow the simple steps below:

1: Preheat oven to 400 degrees. While the oven is preheating, line a baking sheet with parchment paper & set aside.

2: Sprinkle some flour on a cutting board & spread out your pizza dough. Carefully cut each dough into about 30 equal squares.

3: Now cut your mozzarella string cheese into 1-in pieces, & place one piece on top of each dough square.

4: Roll each cheese square into a ball making sure the dough covers all of the cheese. Set the balls on your baking sheet seam side down in the shape of a tree.

5: Cover your “tree” with the egg wash, & bake for about 18 mins.

6: While the dough is baking, mix together the butter, spices & half of the Parmesan cheese. Spread on top of the “tree” once done baking, & then sprinkle on the remaining Parmesan cheese.

7: Serve with marinara and enjoy.
