This is another great dessert option for your Memorial Day, or even Fourth of July, gatherings. Another kid friendly recipe that they’ll not only love making but also eating! As most of you know, I love cooking/baking and sharing that passion with my kids in the kitchen is something I always hoped for and love getting to do. I hope you enjoy their new dessert recipe as much as we do!
Ingredients Needed:
1 package of Oreo’s
8 oz of cream cheese
1 lb white almond bark
6 oz red candy melts
6 oz blue candy melts
red/white/blue sprinkles
To make this yummy dessert, follow these super simple steps:
1: Pour all of the Oreo’s into a gallon size Ziploc bag. Using either a rolling pin, mallet or something similar, crush all of the Oreo’s until they are of a smoother consistency. Pour the crushed Oreo’s in a mixing bowl, and add in the cream cheese making sure to mix it together with the Oreo crumbles. You want to make sure all the crumbles are fully coated with the cream cheese.
2: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Form your cream cheese/crumble mixture into balls and set them on the baking sheet. Once you have formed all the mixture into balls, place the baking sheet into the refrigerator letting the Oreo balls chill. I would suggest leaving them in the refrigerator for about 30-45 mins.
3: Once the Oreo balls have fully chilled, melt the almond bark in the microwave. Carefully dip the Oreo balls into the melted almond bark and then set them on the baking sheet. You will want them to sit for about 15 mins allowing the almond bark to harden.
4: Melt the red and blue candy melts in separate bowls. Once they are melted completely, drizzle both colors over the Oreo balls in whatever design or style you prefer. Add on the sprinkles and enjoy!
I guarantee these will be a dessert favorite at your next family or friends gathering! Yet another simple recipe with easy cleanup. I would love to see all of your truffle designs. So make sure to tag me in your recipe posts! Have fun creating!
