We made it to the middle of summer and we have been living by the pool & on the lake when we can. Throwing together a meat & cheese board is one of the easiest snacks to put together and can be put back in the fridge to save for later. It is always my go to, the kids love it, and it feeds quite a bit of people. Here is how I make my Meat & Cheese Board.
INGREDIENTS:
Ham
Prosciutto
Italian Dried Salami
Swiss Cheese
Cheddar Cheese
Sliced Provolone
Sliced Smoked Gouda
Feta Cheese
Colby Jack Cheese
Ranch Dip
Fruit Dip
Club Crackers
Cheese crisps
Any other crackers you may have at home
Watermelon
Grapes
Raspberries
INSTRUCTIONS:
First, I put down the dips that are in the ramekins and then work off of that. I used ranch and fruit dip.
Then I place the meat across the board. I typically roll the Prosciutto and ham since they are thinly sliced. I put the salami in a row so that it’s easy to grab a slice at a time. Get creative with how you place it on the board. Your goal is to not have everything going the same way on the board.
Then I added in the different types of cheese. I put the feta in a bowl to give it dimension on the board. For thinly sliced cheese, I roll and stack on top of each other, and for others I lay flat on the board if I need to take up space on the board.
Add stacks of different crackers across the board. Only add small amounts of each type of cracker to have space for the fruit.
From there, fill in the space with fruit. I started with the watermelon and stacked it vertically to give the board some flare. Add your raspberries and grapes where you have space. You can also fill in small spaces with the grapes.
There is no wrong way to put together a charcuterie board. Use the ingredients that best fit you and get creative! I always love putting together boards. If you host friends and family, this is something that will feed a lot of people with a wide variety of ingredients. Let me know if you try it!
