5 Social Media Platforms To Use For Your e-Commerce Business In 2021

Marketing

the blog:

We all know that social media is here to stay but one thing that new and small business owners may not know is how to use social media to grow their business. Social Media Marketing is an absolute must to build brand loyalty, reach new audiences and convert them into customers for your business.

Instagram

Instagram is definitely one of my favorite social media platforms for businesses. While it may be a little bit harder these days to grow organically on this platform, it still isn’t impossible. Users love seeing unique and curated content and it’s easy for brands to find followers that have an interest in what they sell via hashtags. You can also use Instagram stories that directly link to your website and get customers to convert. Instagram also just recently rolled out the Instagram Reels which is a short video reel similar to Tik Tok. Businesses can use these features to showcase their products and reach their target customers all in the same platform.

Tik Tok

Tik Tok has now become one of the fastest growing social media platforms of all time. Users can create videos up to a minute in length and edit it all within the app.

How does this benefit business owners? This App is super easy to learn and all of the content can be recorded and edited right within the app so no prior experience required. This app is great for business owners to teach others what their business is about. Content can quickly go viral and you can get your business in front of thousands, if not millions of people.

Youtube

Youtube is the 2nd largest website in the world with over 2 billion monthly users. Because of this, it is a must for any business owner to get their business on youtube and in front of potential customers. Youtube pages can grow so quickly if you really create content that educates or stands out. If you sell a product then make videos on how that product can help potential customers. Show behind the scenes of your business. Create content that could potentially go viral. The opportunities are really endless. It’s definitely a platform that won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.

Facebook

Facebook was the very first Social Media Platform that I used when I launched my business in 2014. Back then, it was so easy for a post to go viral and for your audience to sky rocket. Fast- forward to 2020 and that definitely is no longer the case but it still is a good platform to use. Within Facebook, I personally recommend starting a Page and a Group for your business. Why both? You have to start a Page to set up your ads and put money into your posts if you wish to pay for ads one day. It also helps customers get information on your business and makes your brand seem more legit. A Facebook Group is just as important and can actually be more beneficial to your business by grouping together loyal customers. As a business owner, I use my Facebook group to post polls, show sneak peeks, post content of items we sell on the website, and just build a community for my brand. Both are very important to do within this platform.

Pinterest

Pinterest dominates all social media platforms with the amount of women on the platform and how likely they are to make shopping and purchasing decisions from the content they found on the platform. If your business markets to women then you need to be on this platform and pinning the items that you sell on your website. You never know when an item will get repinned or better yet, when it will go viral. It does happen! You can also pin videos from other platforms which makes it easy to cross post.

Social Media is the best way to market your Ecommerce Business in 2020 and I definitely recommend starting with these 5 platforms to do so!
