This cocktail is the perfect drink for sweet summertime! You can serve it poolside with friends or even make a batch and pack it for a day at the lake. The fresh fruit and hint of added mint had my family raving about just how delicious it is. Plus I love the convenience of having simplistic ingredients that most people already have in their cabinet or fridge. Simple prep, simple clean up…the perfect drink!
Ingredients Used:
4 Large Mint Leaves
1/2 cup Watermelon
2 tsp Lime Juice
1 tsp Agave Syrup
1 oz White Rum
1 oz Vodka
Limes for garnish
Ice
Follow these steps to make the Watermelon Smash Cocktail:
1: You will want to crush the ice first and foremost. I simply filled my Ninja blender cup a little over halfway with ice, and then added cold water to about midways. Blend the ice and water until you have crushed ice and strain the excess water.
2: Add the mint to a cocktail shaker and gently muddle the mint. Now add in the watermelon and again muddle the watermelon until most of the juice has been released out.
3: Add in the agave syrup, white rum, vodka and lime juice. I found this bar tool set at Target with the matching shaker that works perfect with making cocktails! Fill the shaker with ice and shake until everything is well blended together.
4: Fill a cocktail glass with the crushed ice and then strain in the drink. Garnish with a lime and some fresh mint, and you are ready to serve! You could even add a small watermelon slice for extra garnish if you would like that added touch.
This cocktail will be the hit of your next party or get together with friends and family! I promise they will love it just as much as Chris and I do. Make sure to tag me if you give it a try as I’d love to hear your feedback. Cheers, friends!
