Ft Lauderdale, Florida
We spent Easter Weekend in Ft. Lauderdale. It was our first time visiting here and wanted a few days at the beach before we headed to Disney World. We stayed at the Pelican Grande Resort right in the heart of Ft. Lauderdale. I’m not usually a big fan of high rises and do get a little bit of anxiety being so high up but it was still a nice hotel. I would rate it 6/10 out of the hotels i’ve been to. After talking it over with Chris though, I think we’ve decided airbnb houses are just a little easier with 3 kids versus a hotel room. We get clothes dirty and prefer cooking so that is the downfall with not having a place to do laundry and having to eat out every meal. The food was amazing but also a little pricier than I prefer.

Jungle Queen Cruise
During our trip, we did head out on a few excursions and to some great restaurants. The first thing we did was head out on the Jungle Queen sightseeing cruise on the intercoastal waterway. We got to cruise down and see so many amazing boats, yachts and establishments in Ft. Lauderdale.
You can watch the Reel HERE of this trip! It was a great 90 minute tour and everyone loved it.
After the cruise we went to Coconuts for dinner. We started out with the “My Kind Of Lemonade” drink and some oysters. The drink was FANTASTIC! For my meal, I ordered the crispy snapper and it was incredible. Everyone loved everything that was ordered and we got to watch the sunset over the water. The restaurant was very casual and laid back so I just wore shorts and a tank and felt totally fine.
Beach Day
We spent Easter Sunday at the beach building sand castles and getting some Vitamin D. The waves were too big for us to get in and the water a tad chilly but the kids didn’t mind just playing in the sand.
Shooters Waterfront
Our last night there- we ate at Shooters. The vibe and atmosphere was like no other. It was very modern and trendy and right on the waterway. Here’s what we had:
Drink: Watermelon Mint Cooler
Appetizer: Calamari
My Meal: Scallops and Shrimp
Chris’ meal: Godzilla Sushi roll
The Scallops and Shrimp was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The goat cheese risotto was full of flavor. I wish I could have it again already. I forgot to snap a photo of the meal prior to eating…oops.
Overall, we had a great few days in Ft. Lauderdale. The food was amazing. It was a great place to go for a mini getaway. I personally am more of a fan of the panhandle of Florida but it was nice to go further south for warmer weather this time of the year.
